Aviation Australia has been approved to continue delivering nationally recognised aircraft maintenance training in Victoria, with the assistance of Victorian State Government funding.

The Victorian based training will operate out of Aviation Australia's current facility in Essendon Fields. Plans to grow the campus to include instructor-led training for block-release apprentices, on-site practical assessment activities of apprentices and upskilling of already qualified aircraft maintenance engineers is currently underway.

Positioned as Australia's only training organisation with nationally and internationally recognised accreditations, the Victoria based courses are already in high demand.

"As Australia's only maintenance training organisation accredited with both the European Aviation Safety Agency and the Civil Aviation Safety Authority, Aviation Australia's graduates are sought after across Australia and overseas," said Bill Horrocks, Aviation Australia's CEO.

In recent years there has been a growing need for specific aviation maintenance training facilities within Victoria, Aviation Australia has been established in Essendon Fields to fill this gap in the market, providing significant experience and expertise in aircraft maintenance engineering allowing for both vocational and regulatory outcomes.

"It is hoped that the training opportunities presented will once again provide confidence and encouragement to companies to further invest in skills and jobs in Victoria," said Adrian Lane, Aviation Australia Aircraft Engineering Training Consultant.

"There is a significant amount of growth in the Victorian aviation industry. Being able to deliver approved CASA and EASA regulatory licence outcomes is what sets Aviation Australia apart."

Aviation Australia is ready for next years' intake of apprentices and engineers, commencing training in January 2018.

Additional training for existing Licenced Aircraft Maintenance Engineers is also expected to commence in the New Year.
