Austrian Airlines: First Senator Lounge in a New Design Opens at Vienna Airport
- New design with a focus on Austria and individuality
- All three Business Class Lounges and both Senator Lounges will be renovated
- Conversion work on the lounges to be completed in the spring of 2018
Effective immediately, the first Senator Lounge at Vienna Airport shines in a new design. Two Business Class Lounges have also already been upgraded. The themes of Austria and individuality are manifested in the overall concept underlying all lounges. Accordingly, “real” trees are a highlight in the Senator Lounges. These are Austrian beech trees in the closed area which are preserved using a special preservation technique. In addition to customized furniture from Austria as well as a new textile concept highlighting individually designed carpets and curtains, the lounges will also feature selected cutouts from pictures created by Austrian artists such as Gustav Klimt.
A total of 630,000 passengers took advantage of the Austrian Airlines lounge offering at Vienna Airport in the year 2017. In particular, the various relaxation zones and the culinary offering provided by Do&Co were very popular. Moreover, the digital offering was increasingly used. 87,300 e-Journals were downloaded in the lounges in 2017. On balance, Austrian Airlines operates seven lounges at Vienna Airport, including three Business Class lounges, two Senator and two HON lounges.
