ATSB: Flight below minimum altitude involving Boeing 777, ZK-OKN near Brisbane Airport, Queensland,

The ATSB is investigating the descent below the radar lowest safe altitude involving a Boeing 777, registered ZK-OKN, near Brisbane Airport, Queensland, on 18 November 2017.

The flight was tracking via the SAVER 1A STAR for runway 01 and the flight crew were cleared to descend to 3,000 ft. Shortly after the aircraft was observed to have descended to 2,500 ft. The flight crew were alerted to the error, but the aircraft continued descent to about 2,000 ft.

The investigation is continuing and will involve reviewing recorded data, interviewing the flight crew and gathering additional data.
