ARC Reports Travel Agencies Sold Over $9 Billion Worth of Air Tickets in May

Airlines Reporting Corp. (ARC) announced today that the consolidated dollar value of airline tickets sold in May 2019 by U.S.-based travel agencies increased 5% compared to May 2018, totaling $9.2 billion vs. $8.8 billion.* The average U.S. round-trip ticket price was $511 vs. $498 in May 2018.

The total number of passenger trips settled by ARC for U.S. travel agencies increased 3.5% to 27,417,469 compared to 26,498,212 in May 2018. U.S. domestic trips increased 2.7% while international passenger trips grew 4.7%.

Electronic Miscellaneous Document (EMD)** sales in May 2019 totaled $7.4 million, a 16% decrease compared to the same period in 2018. EMD transactions increased 3.4% year-over-year.
