Japan's largest airline group-the ANA Holdings Inc. (ANA Group) has sucessfully made transfer to buy shares of Vietnam Airlines on 1 July 2016, completed the transaction in order to hold 8.771% of the shares and officially become a strategic shareholder of Vietnam Airlines.

Vietnam Airlines is expected to hold the 2016 extraordinary meeting of shareholders earlier than September 30th 2016 in order to elect ANA Holdings Inc to the board, amend the Statute of the Corporation and adopt a plan to increase charter capital by issuing additional shares offered to its existing shareholders.

ANA Group's joining as official shareholder is of great significance for the long-term development of Vietnam Airlines. Given its extensive cooperation in various fields together with the participation of the world's leading airline in management, Vietnam Airlines will be provided with a firm foundation to launch its fleet renewal program by adding new-generation aircrafts, expanding markets, improving the quality and efficiency of service and operation.

After completing the share transaction to ANA Group, Vietnam Airlines will continue to look for potential financial investors to issue additional shares in order to increase its charter capital and reduce the State's share to 75 , this percentage is set fall to 65 under the company's re-structure plan.
