American Express Global Business Travel expands accommodation program to offer more than 2 million p

American Express Global Business Travel (GBT) has expanded its online accommodation program to give companies and business travelers access to more than 2 million properties worldwide. The additional content is a result of GBT opening up more inventory through its existing partnership with Booking.com.

Using their online booking tool (OBT), GBT clients and travelers can select from a wide range of overnight stay options, including major chain hotels, independent hotels, non-traditional lodging and extended stay options, alongside transportation.

GBT's relationships with major hotel chains and third-party travel partners provide clients access to loyalty member rates and additional rate discounts across inventory sources. With the expansion of the accommodation program, they can now also access special Booking.com discounts at thousands of properties worldwide. Booking.com Genius rates, available globally, offer savings of at least 10% on every booking. They appear in OBTs as "Genius Business".

Wesley Bergstrom, GBT Vice President, Global Supplier Relations, said: "We are determined to give clients and travelers access to the widest range of accommodation choices, with a vast range of properties and property types, all bookable through OBTs. Travelers have no reason to search for accommodation anywhere else: they can find everything they want in one place and confirm their accommodation and transportation in a single booking. It means more choice and convenience for the traveler; more value and improved compliance for the client."
