ALTA Member Airlines increased passenger traffic trend shows sign of recovery
According to ALTA's (Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association) September traffic report, the Latin American and Caribbean market is showing signs of recovery. For the third consecutive month, passengers carried by member airlines is up versus the same time period the previous year with 10.3 million passengers in September, up 10.9% from last year. In addition, the industry also showed year-to-date increases in passengers, capacity and traffic. At the same time however, ALTA also points out that yields are still down approximately 10 - 20 percent for the region depending on the carrier.
