Airline Brings Southern Hospitality to Oakland with $59 One-way Fares

Oakland International Airport (OAK) announced today that Allegiant Air will offer a nonstop flight between Oakland and Memphis, Tennessee, beginning May 30, 2018. The seasonal summer service will fly on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and kicks off with one-way fares as low as $59. It will be the only nonstop flight between the San Francisco Bay Area and Memphis.

"Allegiant continues to be a strong and growing partner here in Oakland. We couldn't be more pleased with the decision to connect the Bay Area with Memphis through its Oakland Gateway," said Bryant L. Francis, Director of Aviation at Oakland International Airport. "Memphis will grow OAK's portfolio to a record 65 nonstop destinations, and represents an unserved market, which is very exciting. We're proud Allegiant continues to offer its unique and attractive travel service at OAK, and at a price which gives our customers yet another reason to fly OAK again and again."

"Allegiant is excited to offer Memphis travelers their only nonstop option to visit the Bay Area," said Lukas Johnson, Allegiant Senior Vice President of Commercial. "We're sure that travelers will take advantage of this convenient, ultra-low-cost nonstop service to enjoy all that Oakland and the greater San Francisco Bay Area have to offer."

Airport and airline officials indicate the new route is expected to attract approximately 5,000 travelers (one way) during the summer season between Oakland and Memphis thanks to the new flights, capitalizing on Allegiant's specialization in full-service packages for every travel budget.
