We are excited to announce we have engaged Palantir as our strategic data science partner.

Palantir, a company based in Palo Alto, California that specialises in big data analysis, will work with AirAsia to carry out data science projects on their platform across our various business functions over the next five years.

These functions will include guest experience, inflight sales, route revenue, finance, security, flight operations, network planning, cargo, supply chain management, commercial and people development.

Projects will include building "customer-obsessed" data-backed models, providing visibility and improving efficiency across our operations, improving efficiency in procurement and inventory management and providing technical and analytical training for our Allstars.

AirAsia Group CEO and AirAsia X Co-Group CEO Tan Sri Tony Fernandes said, "Data is the biggest asset we have. But data is also meaningless if you can't make sense of it. That's where Palantir comes in - to help us understand the data and the relationships between them, from operations to commercial to guest experience.

"This will allow us to drive exponential growth as we shift to the next stage of value-creation. We are going to set the standard for how airlines use data to increase revenue - we're projecting a 5 percent uptick in Group revenue - reduce costs, boost efficiency and create a truly personalised guest experience, and we are thrilled to have Palantir as our partner on this."

Palantir CEO and Co-Founder Alex Karp said, "AirAsia is at the forefront of innovation in aviation. Tony Fernandes has built a pathbreaking organisation in a vital industry, and we could not be more proud to have AirAsia as a partner."
