16-Jan-2018 6.3% - Auckland Airport's international passengers (excluding transits) were up by 6.3% in November 2017 compared to November 2016. Growth occurred across all regions with a particularly strong performance on Asia and Middle Eastern routes (+16.6%) and the Pacific Island services (+6.9%). International passenger growth was underpinned by seat capacity growth and higher load factors across the network.

10.8% - Visitor arrivals from the United States of America to Auckland Airport were up 10.8% in November 2017 compared to November 2016. This growth was driven by the increase in direct capacity from the United States following the seasonal return of United Airlines' San Francisco and American Airlines' Los Angeles services. Both holidaymakers and visiting friends and relatives (VFR) travel sectors achieved double-digit growth in November 2017.

TG Daily B789 - From November 2017 Thai Airways has increased its Bangkok to Auckland service from five weekly to a daily service this has resulted in a 75% increase in frequency over the last two years. Also in November Thai Airways introduced its newest aircraft, the B787-900 Dreamliner, to the Auckland route, and in December Thai celebrated 30 years of service to Auckland.

Samoa Airways Apia - Auckland Airport also welcomed our newest international airline Samoa Airways in November 2017. Samoa commenced a Tuesday to Sunday Apia to Auckland service on its new B737-800 aircraft. This service increased to daily flights from mid-December and has replaced Virgin Pacific's B737-800 service on the same route.
