2018 Schengen Visa statistics by third country

The Russian Federation remains at the top of the table with the highest number of visa applications filed in 2018. Despite a decline in the number of applications by Russians, which also affected the overall number of visa applications filed to decrease, Russia remains by far the top source country for Schengen visa applications.
The number of visa applications in China continues to strongly increase with 11.3% more applications lodged in 2018 than the previous year.
The table below illustrates the official statistics regarding the overall number of Schengen visa applications received at the corresponding Consulates or Embassies of Schengen Area countries worldwide.
