Headquartered in Spain and the UK, World Duty Free (WDF) is one of the world’s leading travel retailers and operates over 550 stores in 20 countries across 5 continents. The company has developed its own commercial concepts, tailored to match the purchasing preferences of travelers passing through the 140 locations it operates, including 102 airports. Through its main tax & duty free and specialist concept stores, World Duty Free Group sells a variety of products including fragrance, liquor, skincare, cosmetics, confectionery, food, accessories and souvenirs. The European Commission has cleared the acquisition of World Duty Free by Dufry. In Sep-2015, the World Duty Free board approved the pricing of remaining shares in the duty free and travel retailer related to the mandatory takeover bid from Dufry, which already has a controlling 50.1% stake in WDF.
