About

New Manizales Aerocafé Airport is an airport construction project for the Colombian city of Manizales. It is not known whether the airport will replace the current La Nubia Airport or operate in addition to it. The project is being managed by Asociación Aeropuerto del Café (Aerocafé).

Nov-2021. Colombia's Caldas Province Governor Luis Carlos Velásquez said New Manizales Aerocafé Airport is expected to be completed by the end of 2023. Mr Velásquez said airport capacity is expected to be around 500,000 passengers p/a.

Jul-2021. Colombia Aerocivil announced the start of earthworks in preparation for the construction of New Manizales Aerocafé Airport's 1460m runway.

Dec-2014. A consultant has been commissioned to produce forecasts of passengers, cargo and air transport movements for a proposed new airport in Colombia at Manizales. The work is part of a study of the wider economic impact of the new airport. The existing airport is Manizales La Nubia.
