About

Hancheng Heyang Airport is a proposed airport development to serve the city of Hangcheng, Shaanxi Province. The Hancheng Municipal Government, China West Airport Group Co and the CCCC Tunnel Engineering Bureau plan to construct a 4C airport on a 751 ha site, as part of a public-private programme.

Jul-2018. Hancheng Heyang Airport projected construction work on runway to be completed in Sep-2018. Phase one will see the airport developed as a general aviation airport, designed as a category 4C airport with a 2200m x 45m runway. Phase two will see the airport upgraded to a regional airport, with runway extended to 2800m x 45m and a 53,000sqm terminal. Total investment in the project is estimated at CNY354.5 million (USD53.1 million).

Aug-2016. Hancheng Heyang Airport commenced construction on 30-Aug-2016, with plans to complete construction in Aug-2017. The construction, with total investment of CYN324.0 million (USD48.5 million), includes a 2200m x 45m runway.
