About

Arkhyz Airport is an airport development project which will serve the city of Arkhyz, Russia.

Jul-2024. Airports of Regions and Karachay-Cherkessia Republic signed a concession agreement about the greenfield construction of a new airport complex at Arkhyz. The airport will be the only airport in the region and will support tourism development. Arkhyz airport will have the following features:

  • Runway: 3000m x 45m;
  • Apron: 10 aircraft spaces, with a possibility of expansion to 23 aircraft spaces;
  • Passenger terminal: 24,000sqm;
  • Terminal capacity: 1000 passengers per hour;
  • Four boarding gates;
  • Three passenger aerobridges;
  • Parking station: 340 vehicle spaces.

Airports of Regions will fund terminal, runway, taxiway and apron construction. Planned project investment is estimated at RUB28 billion (EUR291.95 million). Construction of the new airport complex will be completed by the end of 2028. 

May-2024. Russia's Ministry of Transport infrastructure development department director Sergey Dunaev said an airport will be constructed near Arkhyz, under a concession agreement with Airports of Regions. The airport is expected to open by 2028.
