Wallis and Futuna Islands

Region: Southwest Pacific

The Territory of the Wallis and Futuna Islands is a Polynesian French island territory in the South Pacific. There are two airports on the islands, one on Wallis island – Hihifo Airport and one on Futuna island – Pointe Vele Airport. The only commercial airline servicing these islands is Aircalin (aka Air Calédonie International), which operates inter-island services between Wallis and Futuna. Civil aviation operations in French Polynesia fall under the jurisdiction of French authorities; therefore the Directorate General for Civil Aviation (France) is the authority responsible for regulating the air transport industry within the Wallis and Futuna Islands.
