Montenegro has both a picturesque coast and a mountainous northern region, which are some of the main drawcards for tourism in the country. The main international gateways into Montenegro are Podgorica Airport (TGD) and Tivat Airport (TIV).
Montenegro Airlines was the national airline of Montenegro until it ceased operations on 26-Dec-2020, after the Government of Montenegro decided to not provide any further state aid for the airline and instead allocate around EUR30 million to launch a "completely new airline" with a different structure and business model. The new airline is expected to be established by summer 2021.
The Civil Aviation Agency of Montenegro is the body in control of aviation movements in the region.
