Kyrgyzstan, located in central Asia, is one of the world's six independent Turkic states. Manas International Airport (FRU) is the main gateway into the country, offering regional flights to Moscow and Dubai. FRU is also the base for Kyrgyzstan Airlines, the government-owned national airline of Kyrgyzstan. Kyrgyzstan is currently on the European Union's list of prohibited countries for the certification of airlines, meaning no airline that is registered in Kyrgyzstan may operate services to the European Union. The Civil Aviation Administration is the government body that is responsible for aviation regulations and standards in Kyrgyzstan.
