The Republic of Cape Verde, also known as Cabo Verde, is a small island group located off West Africa. Praia international Airport is the main gateway located on the island of Santiago in the capital of Praia. Cape Verde has close to a dozen airports with the main airports being Praia international Airport, Amílcar Cabral International Airport and São Pedro Airport. The national carrier TACV Cabo Verde Airlines dominates Cape Verde’s aviation.

Cape Verde has been rated category one by the FAA (Federal Aviation Authority) by meeting ICAO standards, which makes it one of the only countries in Africa to meet this standard for safety and security.
