The British Virgin Islands is an overseas British territory located in the Caribbean to the east of Puerto Rico. The main airport servicing the islands is Terrance B Lettsome International airport (also known as Beef Island Airport), which is serviced by American Eagle, Cape Air, BVI Airways as well as Air Sunshine all of which offer scheduled services on domestic and international routes. The other two airports are Auguste George Airport and Virgin Gorda Airport. The Department of Civil Aviation is the body responsible for safety standards and regulations for the aviation industry in the British Virgin Islands.
