Royal Bhutan Airlines (Druk Air) is the national carrier of the government of Bhutan, operating to seven cities in six countries; no other carriers operate in Bhutan. By law “commercial flights to Bhutan, entering into Bhutan Airspace shall seek prior permission of the Civil Aviation Authority of the country”.

Bhutan has four airports, serving the cities of Jakar, Gelephu, Yonphula and Paro; flights generally experience delays and/or cancellations as a result of unpredictable cloud coverage that Bhutan is susceptible to for up to several months of the year.
