Tashkurgan Airport serves Tashkurgan, in Tashkurgan Tajik Autonomous County, China. Construction of the airport commence in Apr-2020. The airport received an airport operator licence from the Civil Aviation Administration of Xinjiang in Oct-2022 and commenced operations on 23-Dec-2022. The airport is one of China's highest airports above sea level and the first high plateau airport in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. The airport also forms part of a series of infrastructure developments encompassing the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor project.
