About

Stephenville Dymond International Airport (formerly Stephenville Airport) serves the town of Stephenville and surrounding areas. The airport was originally constructed by the United States Air Force in 1941 and for over 20 years was known as Ernest Harmon Air Force Base. In 1970, the airport was officially designated as an alternate Trans Oceanic Plane Stop (TOPS). On 01-Apr-1990 the airport was further designated for alternate use, refuelling only, by international scheduled traffic and for international general aviation use. Stephenville has developed a specific niche serving trans Atlantic transient traffic through its long established FBO facility and a refuelling services. The airport is operated by Stephenville Airport Corporation.

On 29-Jun-2022, Stephenville Airport announced Stephenville Airport Corporation reached a deal to sell the airport to the Dymond Group of Companies and the Greater N L Partnership (GNLP).

In Aug-2023 Stephenville Dymond International Airport confirmed  the ownership transfer of the airport to Dymond Group
