About

Qiemo Yudu Airport, is a new airport serving the township of Qiemo, in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, China. The CNY588 million (USD91 million) airport was developed as a replacement to Qiemo Airport. It is located approximately 13 kilometres to the northwest of Qiemo. The category 4C airport is expected to achieve an annual passenger throughput of 120,000 by 2020. China Southern Airlines launched a test flight at Qiemo Yudu on 26-Aug-2016. Commercial service operations commenced on 19-Dec-2016, as China Southern launched five times weekly Urumqi-Korla-Qiemo service.
