About

Moss Airport, Rygge (also known as Oslo Rygge Airport) is an airport serving the Østfold region in Norway. Located about 60km from Oslo, Rygge Airport opened in 2007 as an airport for the region but has become a secondary airport serving Oslo, gaining popularity among low-cost carriers. The airport is a joint civil/military facility and is owned by the Royal Norwegian Air Force. The airport ceased commercial operations on 01-Nov-2016.

In Apr-2017, Jotunfjell Partners signed an agreement with Orkla, Thon Holding and Østfold Energi to acquire Oslo Moss Rygge Airport. Jotunfjell MD Kristoffer Olsen confirmed the company plans to relaunch commercial operations at Moss Rygge by 2019. In May-2017, Jotunfjell Partners AS revised Oslo Moss Rygge Airport's reopening date for Mar-2019. In Aug-2019, Jotunfjell Partners AS reported it plans to clarify the feasibility of opening Oslo Moss Rygge Airport for commercial operations in Apr-2020.

In Sep-2021, Jotunfjell Partners put Oslo Moss Rygge Airport's terminal, parking garage and stands up for sale, with the airport having not seen commercial operations since 2016.
