Hans Christian Andersen Airport serves the city of Odense, Denmark. The airport receives schedules services from Danish Air Transport and seasonal charter services from Thomas Cook Scandanavia. Hans Christian Andersen Airport was known as Odense Airport before its rebranding.
In Nov-2016 Denmark's Odense municipality Mayor Anker Boye affirmed support for Odense Hans Christian Andersen Airport to be developed as a drone airport. A feasibility study will be conducted to assess the viability of terminating passenger services and instead solely serving drones at ODE. Mr Boye stated up to 15,000 jobs would be created in the Danish drone industry, while the University of Southern Denmark has expressed interest in establishing research facilities for drones at the airport in 2017.
