Construction of the airport began in 2010 and the airport runway construction began in Aug-2011 featuring a CAT I instrumental landing system. The airport has an 11,000sqm terminal. The airport has an initial capacity for one million passengers p/a and a 2500m runway. The airport was constructed with investment of EUR100 million
