Kutaisi International Airport, Georgia’s and the region’s first low-cost airport, was constructed in 2012. In its first full year of operation in 2013, the airport handled more than 10% (188,682 passengers) of Georgia’s total aviation market of 1.8 million and its share is likely to double to 20% by 2014 year-end.
