Kastamonu Airport opened on 05-Jul-2013 servicing Turkey’s Kastamonu Province. Turkish Airlines was the first scheduled carrier the airport operating services to Istanbul, where there is a large population (>1 million) of people from the area. The airport remained dormant for over 50 years prior to a rejuvenation project at a cost of approximately USD100 million.
