Marechal Rondon International Airport serves the western Brazilian city of Cuiabá, capital and tourism centre of Mato Grosso State. The city is at the geographic centre of South America, and its relative isolation from other urban centres has resulted in a strong domestic aviation network. All four main Brazilian carriers operate extensive networks from Cuiabá, as well as a few regional carriers. The airport is operated by state-owned Infraero.
