Castellon Airport

City: Castellon
Country: Spain

Castellón-Costa Azahar Airport is a private airport in Vilanova d'Alcolea, Benlloch, Spain. The airport was officially declared 'open' by local authorities in Mar-2011. Delayed for several years and costing over EUR150 million (USD195 million), the airport does not currently receive scheduled services. However, a new operator, SNC-Lavalin, has been appointed to manage the airport and plans to introduce commercial airline services in the near future. SNC-Lavalin plans to spend EUR7 million (USD9.5 million) to further develop Castellón over the 20-year life of its concession.
