Awasa Airport is an airport that serves the city of Awasa (also spelled Awassa or Hawassa), located on the shores of Lake Awasa, in the Great Rift Valley of Ethiopia. The airport was one of five developments by Ethiopian Airport Enterprise under the country's 'Growth and Transformation Plan'. The plan is a national five-year strategy created by the Ethiopian Government to improve the country's economy position. Awasa is approximately 270km south of Addis Ababa.
