Tigerair Taiwan is a JV between Tiger Airways Holdings and China Airlines Group. Tigerair Taiwan is the country's first low-cost carrier and operates a route network covering destinations across Northeast and Southeast Asia, including Hong Kong, Macau and major Chinese cities. Tigerair Taiwan utilises a fleet of Airbus A320 aircraft.
In Dec-2016, China Airlines announced its board has approved plans and it has entered into an agreement with Roar Aviation III Pte Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tiger Airways Holdings, to acquire 10% stake in Tigerair Taiwan. As part of the agreement, Tigerair Taiwan will cease to use the Tigerair website as its sales and distribution platform, within 12 months of the divestment. The divestment by Roar Aviation is expected to be concluded by 1Q2017.
