Swazi Airways was a proposed full-service start-up due to commence service operations in 2016. Swazi Airways, proposed as the kingdom's newest flagship carrier, was expected to operate passenger and freight services from Feb-2016. Utilising Boeing 737 aircraft, the state-owned carrier planned to operate a trial service to Durban before commencing Cape Town, Harare and Dubai services. The airline sought authorisation to operate to Johannesburg and considered Mumbai, Seychelles and South America routes in the long term. Swazi was scheduled to commence services in Jul-2016, but failed to commence service operations.
