About

Smile Air was a proposed Ghanaian start-up to be based at Accra Kotoka Airport. The carrier planned to commence operations in 2H2015 but deferred its launch to end of 2019/beginning of 2020. The startup planned to operate with Embraer E-Jet aircraft to destinations in Asia, Europe and the Middle East. Smile Air has already entered an alliance with a local domestic carrier for feeder traffic and planned to operate a cabin crew training centre. A revised launch date has not been advised, it is assumed that the carrier has abandoned plans to launch operations.
