Small Planet Airlines Cambodia was a Cambodian subsidiary of Small Planet Group. The airline was part of the group's strategy to reduce the effects of seasonality on its business model - a model that provided European holiday charters through its Lithuanian, Polish and German operations. Small Planet Group ended a five-year agreement with Sky Angkor to operate chartered services to North Asian destinations, including China, Japan, South Korea and Vietnam in 2016, seeking a more secure foothold in the market. Small Planet sought to established a Thai subsidiary in 2015, but abandoned the plans since the government suspended certification processes amid political reform. Cambodia's State Secretariat of Civil Aviation (SSCA) confirmed Small Planet applied for an air operator's certificate in Sep-2016 and established a Cambodian carrier based at Siem Reap on 05-Dec-2017, operating charter flights from Siem Reap to destinations in South Korea and China. Small Planet Airlines Cambodia suspended service operations from 09-Nov-2018, citing financial difficulties. It operated with A320 aircraft.
