Shenzhen Shenhui Airlines was a proposed start-up by online travel agent, Qunar.com and two unnamed partners. Shenzhen Shenhui Airlines Co Ltd, holding company of the proposed carrier, was incorporated in Dec-2015 with a registered capital of CNY600 million (USD92 million). The LCC planned be based in Shenzhen Airport, and operate domestic services within mainland China, as well as regional and international routes. Qunar.com was a minority shareholder of the new venture, a co-owner with other shareholders such as Qianhai Joint Aviation Development Co, Jing Shen Fei Aviation services Ltd, and Qianhai Shenhui Aviation Investment Co Ltd. Shenzhen Shenhui Airlines was expected to commence operations in 2017, however, Ctrip CEO James Liang confirmed its subsidiary, Qunar, will not establish its own airline.
