About
Established in 2003, Regional 1 Airlines, also known as R1 Airlines, is a Canadian charter carrier based at Calgary International Airport. The carrier focuses on providing ACMI contracts that support the corporate, resource and humanitarian/NGO sectors. On 15-Nov-2013, the charter completed a joint venture with Air Georgian allowing both operators access to the world’s largest private fleet of Dash 8 and CRJ series aircraft, over CAD100million in spare parts and domestic maintenance bases located throughout Canada. Regional 1 Airlines operates under parent company; Regional Express Aviation Ltd, the JV entity formed between Air Georgian and original owners of Regional 1, the Avmax Group.
