Norwegian Air Sweden was a subsidiary of Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA operating in Sweden. Norwegian received an AOC from the Swedish Transport Agency and took delivery of its first Swedish registered Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft at Stockholm Arlanda Airport on 21-Nov-2018. The US Department of Transportation (DoT) granted Norwegian Air Sweden exemption authority and a foreign air carrier permit on 11-Feb-2019. Scheduled services commenced in Aug-2019.
Norwegian Air Sweden filed for bankruptcy at Stockholm's District Court in May-2021, following completion of Norwegian's reconstruction process. Norwegian Air Sweden director of communications Charlotte Holmbergh Jacobsson confirmed the company was due to be liquidated but will undergo bankruptcy proceedings due to unresolved debts.
