Nordic Aviation Group, d/b/a Nordica, was established by the Estonian Government to arrange services left by defunct flagship carrier, Estonian Air. The European Commission determined the state funding Estonian Air received was not in line with European Union regulations. Following the decision, Estonian Air suspended all air service operations, effective 08-Nov-2015. Nordic Aviation Group is operating as a virtual carrier, and announced it's brand, Nordica, will operate as a full-service airline in 2016. The Nordica brand was introduced in Mar-2016. Currently, Adria Airways is operating all services on behalf of Nordic Aviation Group. The virtual carrier commenced service operations on it's first Bombardier CRJ700 aircraft on 20-Jan-2016.
