Full Service Carrier
Ceased Operations on 05-Dec-2015

Kogalymavia, trading as Metrojet, was a Russian airline based in Kogalym, Tyumen. The airline operated services from its Kogalym and Surgut hubs, as well as from a base at Moscow Domodedovo Airport. Metrojet secured a merger agreement with Air Samara in 2014. Air Samara was expected to lead the integration process and establish Samara Kurumoch Airport as a base for Metrojet. Air Samara ceased service operations in Feb-2015, and failed to complete the integration process. Metrojet continued to operate with a fleet of A320 equipment until 05-Dec-2015, when the carrier effectively suspended all service operations. Metrojet planned to resume service operations in 2016. However, in Aug-2016, Russia's Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya) withdrew Kogalymavia’s permits for operation on 30 routes, as a result of inactivity for more than one IATA season.
