About
MAIS Mozambican Airlines was a proposed hybrid-LCC start-up that initially planned to commence operations in 1H2015 from its hub at Nacala Airport. A revised launch date is not known, it is assumed the carrier failed to launch. The carrier planned to service the domestic destinations of Beira, Maputo, Nampula, Pemba and Tete initially before seeking authorisation to commence international services to Dar Es Salaam, Johannesburg, Lubumbashi, Lusaka and Nairobi. The start-up also intended to offer Kilimanjaro, Victoria Falls and Indian Ocean charter services. MAIS Mozambican Airlines planned to operate with a fleet of Airbus A320 aircraft.
