About
Founded in 2017, Hi Air is a Korean scheduled carrier based at Seoul Gimpo International Airport. A subsidiary of Korean conglomerate Hi Global Group, the carrier operates domestic services. Hi Air launched service operations on 10-Feb-2020.
Hi Air suspended all domestic services from 01-Sep-2023 to 22-Sep-2023 and all international services from 01-Sep-2023 to 28-Oct-2023, citing a "lack of flight managers, which is a necessary condition for the safe operation of aircraft". The airline will undertake recruitment and training of relevant personnel in order to resume services as soon as possible.
Hi Air filed for court receivership with the Seoul Rehabilitation Court amid financial difficulties on 18-Sep-2023.
South Korea's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT) suspended Hi Air's air operator's certificate on 31-Oct-2023.
