About

Ecuatoriana Airlines is a proposed airline to be based in Ecuador. On 02-Sep-2020, Ecuatoriana Airlines filed for an AOC to handle commercial passenger, mail and cargo air transport services. The carrier will be based at Quito Mariscal Sucre International Airport and plans to cover six cities including Cuenca, Loja and Manta in its first phase of operations, with plans to add seven domestic destinations in the second phase. The airline will focus on domestic operations for the first two years of operations, before looking at cross border routes to Colombia and Peru.

In Apr-2021, Ecuatoriana Airlines announced it plans to acquire Boeing 717-200s for its "second phase of operations". Ecuatoriana Airlines also announced it aims to launch its first service by Oct-2021, subject to receiving its air operator's certificate. The start-up airline's first service will be Quito-Guayaquil, operated with de Havilland Canada Dash 8 Q400 equipment.

In Sep-2021, Ecuatoriana Airlines announced plans to commence operations in early 2022. A revised launch date has not been provided.
