Gothenburg, Sweden-based City Airline was founded in 2001 by businessman Lars Magnusson, founder of STS Alpresor, STS Språkresor and International business School (IBS). City Airline operated to destinations in Continental Europe and the UK and has been a frequent flyer partner with SAS since 2006. The carrier also operated ad-hoc charters, wet leases and cover at AOG situations. City Airline suspended operations in May-2012.
