Buta Airways is an Azerbaijani airline based at Heydar Aliyev International Airport. It is the second low-cost airline to be established by Azerbaijan's flagship, AZAL Azerbaijan Airlines. Buta is 100% owned by CJSC AZAL Azerbaijan Airlines. Buta Airways operates with a fleet of Embraer aircraft, complementing air service operations of AZAL Azerbaijan Airlines. The carrier operates commercial services to destinations in Eastern Europe and the Middle East. It commenced operations on 01-Sep-2017, with a Baku-Tbilisi service. The airline replaced AZALJET as Azerbaijan Airlines low-cost subsidiary.
