Buta Airways is a proposed Azerbaijani airline to be based at Heydar Aliyev International Airport. The start-up will become the second low-cost airline to be established by Azerbaijan's flagship, AZAL Azerbaijan Airlines. It will be part of the CJSC Azerbaijan Airlines and will be a 100% owned subsidiary company of AZAL. Buta Airways will operate with a fleet of Embraer aircraft, completing air service operations of AZAL Azerbaijan Airlines and AZALJET. The carrier will initially operate from Baku to to Moscow Vnukovo, Antalya, Kazan, Mineralnye Vody, Tbilisi and Tehran, with inaugural Baku-Tbilisi service from 01-Sep-2017.
