Azul Uruguay was a proposed subsidiary by Brazilian LCC, Azul. The new carrier, registered under Encenta S.A., and controlled by Azul via Daraland, was expected to commence in 4Q2017. However, Azul Linhas Aereas halted the expansion plan citing certification delays. However it was planned to launch in 2019 with a fleet of ATR72-600 equipment. Azul plans to deploy the start-up on Uruguay-Argentina services. No further details have been advised, it is assumed the carrier has abandoned plans to commence operations.
