AirAsia Cambodia is a proposed airline by Malaysia's LCC group, AirAsia. The brand was proposed to Cambodia's Council of Ministers, and is a response by AirAsia Group to forecast growth in travellers from Malaysia to Phnom Penh, Siem Reap and Sihanoukville. AirAsia Group CEO Tony Fernandes stated Cambodia's Government offered the group "a 100% licence" to operate the Cambodian subsidiary. AirAsia is expected to release further details on the proposed LCC, after it receives approval.
In 2019, AirAsia Group CEO Tony Fernandes announced AirAsia will not open any more new airlines for the next three years, citing that the group will focus on consolidating existing operations.
