Air Northeast, previously known as Northeast Airlines Co Ltd, was a regional start-up based in Shenyang, China. In Sep-2015, Air Northeast submitted an application to launch a new carrier under the Northeast Airlines brand. Northeast was a regional airline that served Shenyang, Northeast of China. It was rebranded as Hebei Airlines in Jun-2010 following an agreement between Sichuan Airlines Group and the Hebei Municipal Government to restructure the airline. The CAAC region administration has agreed to carry out a preliminary review of the application. It was expected to launch service operations in mid-2016. Air Northeast and China Everbright Bank signed a strategic cooperation agreement under which the bank will provide CNY5 billion (USD770 million) comprehensive credit to the start-up. A revised date has not been advised. The new airline is not associated with US start-up, Northeast Airlines (US).
In Nov-2017 Air Northeast said Shenyang Aviation Industry Group, which was established by the Shenyang City Government, became a shareholder in the start up. As of Nov-2017 the carrier has two A319s and one A320 aircraft.
No further updates have been provided, it is assumed plans to launch have been abandoned.
