Air Guyane Express took over operations of the former Air Guyane in 2002. Air Guyane Express operates scheduled regional services from its base at Cayenne Rochambeau Airport. The airline is part of the "Compagnie Aérienne Inter Régionale Express" (CAIRE) group.
Air Guyane Express was placed into compulsory liquidation in Aug-2023. Guadeloupe's Mixed Commercial Court of Pointe-à-Pitre accepted a partial takeover of Air Antilles and Air Guyane Express owner Compagnie Aérienne Interrégionale Express (CAIRE) by Edeis subsidiary Cipim. Air Antilles will continue to operate, while Air Guyane Express will be liquidated.
